In a significant move towards enhancing marine environmental monitoring, Edgewise Environmental has announced a strategic partnership with MSeis, a UK-based company renowned for its two decades of expertise in offshore surveying. This collaboration will see Newfoundland and Labrador equipped with state-of-the-art Passive Acoustic Monitoring (PAM) systems, specifically the Night Hawk III.
Mark Higginbottom, Managing Director at MSeis, recently attended the H2O Conference in Halifax and St. John’s as part of Innovate UK’s Global Business Innovation Program (GBIP). His trip underscored the growing importance of international collaboration in advancing marine technology and environmental protection. At the conference, Mark highlighted the benefits of the Night Hawk III system, emphasising its precision and efficiency in detecting marine mammal presence and activity.
The collaboration aligns with global efforts to mitigate the impacts of offshore industrial activities on marine life. As the demand for responsible environmental stewardship grows, the integration of advanced PAM systems like Night Hawk 3 is seen as essential in balancing economic development with ecological preservation.
